Webinar Professional Learners: Involving Medical Students and Residents in Your Centering Practice
Description

Join Amy MacDonald, CNM, MSN, a Centering Consultant since 2008 and Faculty for the Duke School of Medicine Practice Course, who will discuss working with medical students and residents at Duke University Medical School, in the Duke Midwifery Service Centering groups. Amy will discuss scheduling residents for Centering Groups, inter-professional collaboration, educational benefits for these professional learners and Patient/Provider communication.

Amy has been working with CHI since 2008, leading trainings most notably in Malawi, Africa, and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Amy started the Duke Midwifery Service within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1999 mentoring learners from three residency programs, medical, PA and NP students while providing patient-centered care to a diverse population of women. She has led a successful CenteringPregnancy practice for English and Spanish-speaking patients since 2004. Amy loves to play Jacks and has a pretty serious knitting obsession.

We have found that these discussions are more engaging and productive when every participant joins in from a video capable computer or mobile device. If you don't have video capability on your computer, you can download the Zoom app on your phone and access video and audio options from your phone. You can also join in from your cell or tablet. Thank you!
